Creating art that reflects truth, beauty, and imagination
Pacifica’s visual art courses offer students a comprehensive experience through the development of skills in concept creation and various mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and installation art. Through the processes of demonstration, hands-on practice, class discussion, critique, and exhibition opportunities, students expand their understanding of aesthetic choices, visual literacy, and final outcomes.
“For the past 21 years, it has been a privilege to serve as Pacifica’s founding Head of School. Each day I have a front-row seat as I observe the lives of a wonderful group of teenagers and am blessed to see them grow into mature young adults prepared for college and beyond.”
WINTER ART GALLERY
The Winter Gallery is the visual art department’s annual signature event. Student artists get the opportunity to curate, install, and publicly exhibit their best work from Pacifica’s Drawing and Painting, Mixed Media, and Photography classes. The show attracts an energetic and diverse crowd of students, parents, and local artists. Opening night is a celebratory event full of camaraderie and appreciation for each other's creative vision, with awards presented for accomplishment and artistic excellence. Student artists also have a second opportunity to exhibit their work at our annual year-end arts festival, iSight.
