Pacifica is an independent Christian high school uniquely positioned in the heart of West Los Angeles—just 18 blocks from the Pacific Ocean, right along the vibrant Wilshire corridor, in the center of Santa Monica, California. Our location isn’t just a backdrop. It’s an essential part of the education we offer.

In a city defined by creativity, innovation, and diversity, Pacifica students grow in independence. They are given responsibility as teenagers and develop the grit, wisdom, and perseverance needed to flourish in today’s world. The city becomes an extension of the classroom, offering daily opportunities for learning, reflection, and character formation. Whether crossing between our main and northeast campuses, having lunch at a local cafe, heading to the athletic field, or exploring the wider community, our students are constantly on the move.

We intentionally provide students with the freedom and responsibility to navigate their environment, and safety and security remain our highest priorities. This autonomy is not aimless—it is guided by mentors and supported by a community that believes deeply in each student’s potential. At Pacifica, we think highly of our students and trust them to rise to the occasion. This trust and guidance pushes them to explore more than they believed was possible.

Pacifica offers a model more akin to the college experience, where freedom and movement are tools for growth. Students grow through academic rigor, personal agency, and real world responsibility. Not only are they prepared to tackle their first college essay, but they are also ready to engage with professors, roommates, and any college town in the world. Here, students are forged in the city, formed by Christ, and made ready for the world.

The Santa Monica Student Life Experience

What's high school like at Pacifica? Here's a snapshot of the student lifestyle:

World Class Arts

The Pacifica-produced SCREEN Student Film Festival is one of the largest student film fests in California. SCREEN receives hundreds of submissions annually from the best high school filmmakers from across the state, culminating in a red-carpet event at American Cinematheque’s historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. Meanwhile, the entire community is invited to showcase their artistic skills in the annual Winter Art Gallery, held at the beautiful Water Garden. Students, parents, and faculty all come together to display their artwork to the public for a full week.

Competitive Athletics

The championship-caliber Seawolves athletics program is all about the journey towards excellence. Student athletes develop valuable character traits while competing on the court and the field. Pacifica students also enjoy the inviting year-round temperate climate with unique offerings like girls’ beach volleyball and our co-ed surf club. Almost every sport at Pacifica gets to practice across the city in professional grade facilities that prepare them for competition and college sports.

Bringing Pacifica to You

Pacifica is well-known for world class events for every member of our community. Students get the unique experience of having their homecoming dance on a yacht, going to Catalina Island for a day, and touring colleges across California. Meanwhile, parents come together as a community for events in one another's homes, moms' and dads' nights across the city, and even the annual Gala. This year, our 20th Anniversary Gala was held at the iconic Natural History Museum.

Pacifica is conveniently located near the Westwood, BrentwoodPacific PalisadesWestchester, Venice, Mar Vista, and other West Los Angeles neighborhoods. Even families in farther neighborhoods have discovered Pacifica's challenging curriculum and graduation requirements that prepare students to study at leading universities.

Santa Monica offers convenient access to nearby Pepperdine University, UCLA, and University of Southern California.

What Sets Us Apart

Learning that Goes Above and Beyond

At Pacifica, we challenge each student to think and live well. They can benefit from a wide range of AP and Honors courses, or go beyond the core liberal arts requirements with one of our four signature programs in STEM, arts, business, or theology.

A Connected Community

The personal connection the students have with our faculty and staff is unmatched. Our teachers are experts in their fields, mature in their faith, and they love teaching teenagers. Because of our small student body, your teen will be known by name at Pacifica.
