My tennis journey started at 18 months old when my dad caught me picking up a racket and hitting my first-ever tennis ball. He couldn’t even believe it, so he made me do it a couple more times before running to my mom to tell her. Growing up with a dad who’s a player and a coach, I never felt pressured to play, which allowed for my love for the sport to grow to where it is now. I played in many junior tournaments, team tennis, and, for high school, I played for Peninsula, which at the time was one of the top tennis teams in SoCal. In 2019-2020, I played for El Camino College for 2 weeks before COVID ended our season. I took that time off to heal a knee injury that I had the year prior, and when I came back for our 2021-2022 season, we won conference, regional, and state, ending the season 17-0! Shortly after, I injured my shoulder, which led me more into my coaching role full time, where I have been working alongside my dad. This sport has really taught me a lot, and it continues to every day. |
