Pacifica’s summer program is designed for incoming 9th–12th grade students who want to make meaningful progress over the summer. Through a mix of enrichment and accredited courses, students strengthen core skills, pursue their interests, and gain momentum for the year ahead.

Whether starting strong with Seawolf Foundations or diving into innovative courses like A.I. Fluency and Passion Project, each experience is intentionally designed to challenge, support, and inspire.

Seawolf foundations

June 22-26, 8:30 AM-12:30 PM

Designed for incoming 9th graders, Seawolf Foundations helps students transition into Pacifica with confidence. Through practical guidance and meaningful connection, students build the skills, habits, and relationships that set them up for success.

Led by Pacifica faculty members Scott Comer and Katie Savage, this course introduces students to Pacifica’s academic culture while helping them build community and feel at home on campus.

AI Fluency & Applied Projects
Course Description: 
This course leverages the latest AI Tools to create and streamline the foundational building blocks of a passion project for college applications. Work with Pacifica’s Director of College Counsel and lead Computer Science teacher, Mr. Steve Eno as you 10x your passion project using the latest in AI technology. Increase your foundational understanding of technological advancement through the lens of building a passion project in preparation for college.

World of Wordcraft
Course Description: 
Discover how the classical arts of grammar, logic, and rhetoric can help you write with clarity, think with precision, and speak with confidence. In an age of rapid communication and widespread misinformation, the ability to write clearly and speak persuasively is more important than ever. Through daily writing exercises, rhetorical analysis, and short speeches, students will practice these skills in a supportive environment while building confidence as writers and speakers.
 
Special Emphasis:
College essay writing and advanced-level writing skills

Accelerated Geometry (Full-Year Credit)
Course Description: 
This accelerated course allows students to complete a full year of Geometry over the summer and advance directly to Algebra II/Trigonometry in the following academic year.

Students develop strong skills in geometric reasoning, visualization, and problem-solving through topics including angles, parallel and perpendicular lines, triangle congruence and similarity, right triangle trigonometry, circles, constructions, area, and volume. Concepts from Algebra I are integrated throughout to reinforce connections across disciplines.

Designed as a focused summer intensive, the course follows a structured and supportive approach to help students succeed in a fast-paced environment.

College Essay Writing
Course Description: 
A small-group workshop for rising seniors focused on crafting a compelling college essay. Students will work one-on-one with Pacifica’s college counselors to develop a strong, polished essay for their applications.
