December 17th, 2025 by Jim Knight

A Season of Excellence, Energy, and Growth

Pacifica Seawolf athletics enjoyed a standout fall season marked by championships, postseason runs, individual honors, and the unmistakable energy of a community rallying around its teams. Across courts, fields, trails, and waves, Seawolf athletes competed with excellence, joy, and resilience.

Girls Volleyball: League Champions Once Again

Girls volleyball continued its tradition of excellence, capturing its 13th Liberty League Championship and advancing to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Playoffs. The Seawolves combined experience and emerging talent throughout the season, competing with poise in high-pressure moments.

Senior Doone McKnight was named Liberty League MVP, a testament to her leadership and consistency. Senior Cali Smith and sophomore Presley Treibatch earned First Team All-League honors, anchoring a team that once again set the standard in league play.

Girls Tennis: A Championship Breakthrough

Girls tennis also claimed the Liberty League Championship, advancing to the second round of the CIF Playoffs and continuing one of the fastest program ascents in recent school history.

Junior Keira Saqui was selected as Liberty League MVP, while freshman Chrissy Teems earned All-League honors, an impressive achievement for a young player competing at a high level. The Seawolves’ depth, composure, and steady improvement defined a championship season.

Flag Football: Friday Night Lights Debut

In its inaugural season, Seawolf flag football finished 5–5 under the leadership of coaches Steve Eno, Nate Overby, and Shelby Benjamin. The team quickly became a campus favorite, playing in front of packed crowds during memorable Friday Night Lights games.

The excitement spilled beyond the field, as students and families carried the celebration into the night, often ending at Chick-fil-A, capturing the joy and community spirit of the season.

Cross Country: Speed on the State Stage

Pacifica cross country delivered one of its strongest seasons to date, sending junior Teal Greene and freshman Anna Kim to the State Championships.

At the CIF Finals, Anna Kim finished second overall, qualifying for state in dominant fashion. In one of the fastest CIF Finals races in history, Teal Greene placed fourth with a remarkable time of 14:56, then went on to finish top 10 in the state, earning a podium finish and cementing his place among California’s elite runners.

Surf: Competing and Leading with Purpose

Under the leadership of Coach Dylan Sohngen, Seawolf Surf continued to build momentum, earning competition wins over rivals Palisades and Loyola while also modeling leadership beyond the water. The program’s strength lies not only in results, but in its commitment to service, stewardship, and team culture.

From league championships to state-level performances, from packed stands to shared celebrations, this fall was about more than wins. It was about growth, leadership, and a school community coming together around student-athletes who compete with heart, discipline, and joy.
