Students at Pacifica are connected, joyful, and grounded in the interpersonal practice of building a community. Through engagement in our school mission they have learned to work hard, contribute, and take risks. Teacher-Student Relationships Start Day One
It goes without saying that Pacifica teachers are gifted instructors and accomplished in their fields. Yet it takes more than being a great teacher to be a member of the Pacifica faculty. Both inside and outside of the classroom, our staff are committed to connecting personally with students, living as quality role models, and being available to listen, guide, and encourage. High school is a transformative time in a teen's life and Pacifica teachers are there to walk alongside students as they grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
An All-School Retreat Unlike Any Other
The year begins with everyone—faculty, staff, and students—taking time away from school and getting into nature on a three-night retreat. This annual tradition allows students and staff to connect outside of the classroom as teammates competing for the coveted Pacifica Cup, getting messy, and getting real. The retreat is an opportunity to grow in faith, deepen friendships, participate in a beloved tradition, and experience the natural world away from the bustle of city life.
The Wolfpack is Everywhere, All the Time
We take great pride in the pack! The student Wolfpack supports all our sports teams and artistic performers, giving everyone a home-court advantage no matter where they are. Pacifica has small-school connections with big-school passion. Parents also lead in the Arts and Athletics Booster Clubs, so the expansive Pacifica community combines your family and ours.
Every Student Leads, Everyday
Through Associated Student Government, our Mentor and Ambassador programs, and Diversity Council, our students have many opportunities and avenues for growth as leaders. And with over 35 student-led clubs, athletic teams, artistic productions, and all-school activities students can follow their passions with like-minded classmates making life outside of class as dynamic and rich as it is inside the classroom. At Pacifica, every student has the opportunity to discover their gifts as leaders and put those gifts into practice.
Pacifica Travels All Over California and Around the World
Whether it is the cross country team racing in Hawaii or the AP European History class reliving their curriculum in the Czech Republic, every Pacifica student has the opportunity to get outside of the Los Angeles bubble and see the world! Exploring different places and cultures is essential for building wonder, empathy, imagination, and higher expectations for adventure.
CLASS VIRTUES
Each year, students at Pacifica examine one of four virtues connected to goals for each developmental step in their high school journey. The Pacifica virtues are integrated into programming, the curriculum, and service throughout their high school experience.
