January 9th, 2024

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”

~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Strength of Love" (1963)

Pacifica honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King’s spirit and commitment to justice have left a mark on our society and the world. As we celebrate his contributions to the pursuit of racial equality, we also recognize the profound integration of his vision with his unshakable faith in God, things that are dear to the heart of our school's mission. King's vision for a harmonious society, where individuals are judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character, resonates deeply within our school's ethos. We embrace the ideals of unity and understanding that he championed, integrating them into the fabric of our educational community.

Dr. King's courage and leadership serve as examples,  inspiring our students to emulate his steadfast determination in the face of adversity. His transformative impact, rooted in the teachings of his faith, serves as a powerful example for our students as they navigate their journeys.

As we honor Dr. King, we aspire to instill courage and compassion in our students in the face of injustice. As a community, we pause to celebrate Dr. King's life and legacy as we seek to bring the light and love of Christ into a broken and divided world.
