Pacifica Stories

The annual Pacifica Gala was once again set at the lovely Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. In addition to the usual auctions, dinner, and dancing, this year’s unique element was theme– guests were transported back in time with our totally rad 80s theme. The night was full of 80s decor, 80s music, and 80s attire. Attendees were encouraged to participate by dressing in 80s fashion, and the Pacifica community went all out!

Guests arrived, either by the school-provided shuttle or their own transportation, between 5:30 and 6:30 pm to mingle, enjoy appetizers, and bid on items in the silent auction. Items to bid on included the beloved class baskets, sports experiences, beauty services, restaurant gift card bundles, and so much more. Raffle tickets for the Best Board Picks Wine Baskets were also purchased during this time.

Next, dinner! This portion of the night was emceed by one of Pacifica’s dedicated parents, Andre Ulloa. Throughout the meal, attendees got to hear from Pacifica mom Joanna Ennis about her experience with the school, as well as our Head of School Jim Knight. Pacifica’s a cappella team, Wolf PACappella, gave an amazing performance while dinner and drinks were enjoyed by all. The wine raffle and live auction took place next, with two lucky winners for the wine baskets. Live auction items included a private wine tasting, a dinner cooked by members of the Pacifica administration, and a dinner to the coveted Beverly Hills. After raising funds for a new Pacifica van, guests hit the dance floor!

The 80s nostalgia took its form on the dance floor and Pacifica tore it up! Attendees continued dancing until the night was over, with others straggling out laden with their prizes from the silent auction. Overall, it was a triumphant night of celebration for the Pacifica community, as well as a final fundraising success for the school. Special thanks to the PPA parents who helped plan and organize the night, Joanna Ennis and Edith Thakor. Lastly, a huge congratulations to Pacifica’s Director of Marketing and Events, Jackie Pasche, for putting together a totally rad event!
