Meet Peyton Gendall, Pacifica Junior
October 21st, 2025

As Pacifica’s Varsity Girls Volleyball team heads into the CIF playoffs—fresh off an undefeated season and two consecutive League Championships—we’re celebrating one of the key members of this incredible group: Junior Peyton Gendall.
Peyton is a force of nature at Pacifica. She serves on Student Government, participates in the Art Program and Mentor Ambassador Program, and plays for our Varsity Volleyball team. Outside of school, she coaches with the Sunshine Club, studies design at SewFYI, serves at her family’s church, and is the founder and designer of Carry Kind Tote Bags, a line of upcycled handmade bags that raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis research.

When asked what’s been most meaningful in her Pacifica journey, Peyton says volleyball is central to her experience. “I’ve been a part of the team since freshman year and have loved it,” she says. “Being on the team has helped me grow some of my deepest friendships, learn how to lead with discipline, and focus my competitive energy.”
For Peyton, the best moments come when the gym is packed and the energy is high. “I love being out on the court with my teammates, especially in those intense games when all our preparation, trust, and communication matter most,” she says. “It’s so exciting when parents, teachers, and students come out to support us. This is especially true during our Pink Out and playoff games.”

Beyond athletics, Peyton has a deep appreciation for Pacifica’s faith-centered environment. “One of the most meaningful parts of Pacifica for me is the faith integration. I’m surrounded by teachers who are willing to pray for me, support me, and challenge me to think deeply about God in our classes every day.”
One of those teachers for her has been Mr. Comer, who teaches her favorite course, AP European History. “He deeply values his students’ growth and character.” She adds that it has been her hardest and most rewarding class, “It required a shared effort between my classmates and me. Because of that, we grew close to each other.”
Another teacher who’s had a lasting impact is Ms. Liberty, who taught Peyton’s Mixed Media Art class. Peyton served on the curation team for the winter art gallery, designing an exhibition that welcomed guests from across the city. “She challenged us creatively and provided us with the tools to be most successful,” Peyton reflects.

When it came to choosing a high school, Pacifica felt like home. “I wanted a place where I could grow in art, athletics, leadership, and faith,” she says. “My older siblings both flourished here, so it was a natural choice.”
Among her favorite memories? Winning the Retreat Cup during her sophomore year retreat with her brother Caden and best friend Doone. “The competition was tight all week,” she laughs. “I'll always remember the last night when we heard our team had won the trophy.”
Through it all, Peyton says she’s learned what leadership rooted in faith looks like. “I have had many opportunities to encourage and serve my classmates at Pacifica.” Whether in friendships, art, athletics, or academics, Peyton has applied these skills across her time here.
Looking ahead, she hopes to continue her creative journey in design school, expanding her Carry Kind brand and using her gifts to make an impact. “After leaving Pacifica, I want to pursue my design career,” Peyton says. “I plan to use the skills Pacifica has given me to grow Carry Kind and keep creating for a purpose.”
We’re so proud of Peyton Gendall—for her leadership, creativity, and heart both on and off the court. Congratulations to Peyton and the entire Varsity Volleyball team as they head into the CIF Playoffs!
