Pacifica's Triple Triumph: A Historic Night for Seawolf Athletics
October 3rd, 2025
Pacifica High School athletics delivered a night to remember last week, sweeping the competition in volleyball, tennis, and flag football and cementing September 23, 2025, in school sports history. From the energy of a packed gym to dominant performances on the field and court, it was the kind of night that felt bigger than high school sports.
Volleyball: A Thriller for the Ages
On the road against rival Pacifica Christian Orange County, the girls’ varsity volleyball team pulled off one of the most dramatic wins of the season. The match stretched into a fifth set that turned into a thrilling showdown, with the Seawolves ultimately clinching it 19-17 in overtime.
“The atmosphere was crazy — like a college game day,” assistant coach Brendan Ward said. “We came out hot, then faltered a bit, and that set up an extremely exciting fifth set. Back and forth the whole way. It was an emotional roller coaster for sure.”
Senior middle Cali Smith grounded the team with consistency and leadership. “She was the emotional anchor, the constant presence that kept us in it,” Ward said. Sophomore Presley Treibatch also had a strong showing, contributing at the net in key moments.
Head coach Sarah Joy guided the Seawolves to a 19-3 record with the victory, one that players, coaches, and fans alike will remember for years.

Tennis: From Fledgling to Fierce
In just its third season, Pacifica girls’ tennis has quickly become one of the Liberty League’s most exciting stories. The team remains undefeated at 6-0 after a dramatic 10-8 win over Shalhevet last week and the league’s top-ranked opponent, Oakwood, this week. These victories that firmly established the Seawolves as championship contenders.
The backbone of this breakout season has been Pacifica’s singles lineup: Keira Saqui, Chrissy Teems, and Misha Heindel. None of the three has dropped a match this year, providing consistency and momentum that have carried Pacifica to the top of the standings.
With a roster of 12 players, Pacifica now finds itself not just competing, but in the driver’s seat to win its first-ever league title.
Football: A Statement Shutout

Pacifica’s flag football team turned in its most dominant performance of the season, rolling to a 42-0 win that pushed their record to 3-0 at the time.
Quarterback Josiah Casey has been outstanding this year, already accounting for 10 passing touchdowns and a rushing score while providing steady leadership on the field. Halfback Daniel De Corsi has contributed four touchdowns, while wide receiver Owen Grady has added two of his own. Defense was led by middle linebackers Nick Constantine and Olli Seminoff.
The blowout victory underscored just how dynamic and balanced this group can be on both sides of the ball.
A Night to Remember
From the gym to the courts to the field, Pacifica athletics experienced one of its finest days ever. A packed crowd, emotional victories, and programs on the rise created an atmosphere that students, parents, and coaches will not soon forget.
“It was one of the best high school volleyball atmospheres I’ve seen in a long time,” Ward said of the volleyball win. That energy seemed to echo across every team.
For Pacifica, last week wasn’t just about wins; it was about the resilience and teamwork of student-athletes stepping into leadership, lifting each other up, and showing what they’re capable of together.
