Pacifica Girl's Tennis: A Season of Promise, Passion, & Perseverance
August 7th, 2025
The 2025–2026 season is shaping up to be a defining one for the Pacifica Christian High School girls tennis team. As they gear up to compete in the formidable Liberty League, the Seawolves bring with them a unique blend of seasoned talent, rising stars, and a deep commitment to growth both on and off the court. With veteran coach Michael Schwartz at the helm and standouts like Keira Saqui, Chrissy Teams, and Misha Heindel leading the charge, this team is poised to make a meaningful impact.
Coach Schwartz, a USPTA-certified professional with over three decades of experience across Los Angeles’ most respected programs, is known for his holistic and joyful approach to coaching. “Technique matters,” he says, “but joy and resilience matter just as much.” His patient and disciplined leadership is helping foster a team culture centered on sportsmanship, self-belief, and steady improvement.
Among the standout athletes is junior Keira Saqui, who enters the season with a clear sense of purpose. Having trained with collegiate-level mentors at UCI and Pitzer, Keira has rapidly developed her game and her mindset. “I’ve learned more from losses than wins,” she shares. “Tennis taught me to push through failure, whether it’s a tough match or a stressful school day.” Her favorite tennis memory recalls a gritty USTA doubles match against higher-ranked opponents, where perseverance earned her and her teammate two hard-fought games. Keira’s favorite pro is Emma Raducanu who serves as an inspiration not just for her skill but for her discipline, faith, and intellect.
For Chrissy Teams, tennis is more than a sport, it’s a calling. A four-year veteran of the game, Chrissy finds joy in competing against top-level talent and continuing to grow her skill set. What excites her most about this season is the team dynamic: “Tennis is such an individual sport, so I’m thrilled to have teammates who support and encourage one another.” She draws inspiration from Serena Williams, a fellow South Los Angeles native whose legacy of grit and excellence continues to drive Chrissy forward. Whether she’s meeting legends like Djokovic and Osaka or diving for a match point in her first tournament win, Chrissy plays with purpose and passion.

Rounding out the trio is sophomore Misha Heindel, whose eight years on the court have shaped her into a confident, focused competitor. Misha thrives on the mental and physical challenge of tennis, along with the friendships it’s brought her. “I’m excited to push my limits this season and see what I’m capable of,” she says. Her favorite pro is Carlos Alcaraz, but her top memory is meeting Emma Navarro after an electrifying late-night win.
As the Seawolves take to the courts this fall, they bring more than talent. They also bring character, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to growth. With strong leadership and a hunger to compete, Pacifica Girls Tennis is ready to make a splash. Keep your eyes on the courts— this season, the Seawolves are just getting started.
