Each year, Pacifica Christian High School presents the Crawford Award to an administrator who embodies the spirit and values of our founding principal, Joan Crawford. Joan, now retired, laid the foundation for the culture we cherish today, a culture rooted in a deep faith in Christ, a bold vision for impacting our city, and a steadfast love for students and their families. She served Pacifica with grace, truth, and unrelenting passion.

This year, we are honored to recognize not one, but two individuals who exemplify the Crawford legacy: Nichole Knottcraig and Bethany Wiseblood, our dynamic duo in the admissions office. Read on for remarks from their colleagues about their receipt of the Crawford Award.

Nichole and Bethany have gone above and beyond in leading families through one of the most important journeys they’ll take, finding a school that shapes both the mind and the heart. Together, they have been the welcoming faces and faithful guides for hundreds of prospective families, helping each one feel known, cared for, and confident in their choice.

Their work is marked by joy, creativity, and a deep sense of mission. Whether organizing events, writing emails, or sharing Pacifica’s story, they do so with excellence, laughter, and heart. They care not only about getting the job done, but about doing it in a way that reflects the love of Christ and builds trust in our community.

Nichole and Bethany, thank you for setting the tone, opening doors, and living out the values that make Pacifica such a special place. You are a gift to our school, and we are so grateful. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

One thing that is undeniable about the way Nichole and Bethany run the Admissions team at Pacifica is their intentionality and care for the details. Each small decision is made in the context of the larger picture of Pacifica’s mission. In the same way that students enrolled at Pacifica are never unknown, families in the admissions process are also never unknown; Nichole and Bethany remember their names, interests, siblings’ names, etc. and are constantly trying to help families find their place at Pacifica. 

Their work ethic is contagious, and they invite every staff member to be a part of the admissions team in some way. Thank you Nichole and Bethany for helping all of us to be better!
