After graduating from Pacifica in 2016, Katie Barnes matriculated to UCLA and then pursued her calling in medicine at UCSF. There, she recently earned her medical degree and is now entering her residency, right where her journey began at UCSF. Katie’s commitment to science and medicine reflects a life shaped by academic rigor and a deep sense of purpose formed during her years at Pacifica.

Quenten Barnes, after graduating from Calvin College, is now a software engineer at Vanguard outside Philadelphia. He’s become known for tackling the “new technology” projects — the creative, cutting-edge assignments that require vision and curiosity. He enjoys his work and the challenges it brings, but, as he says with a smile, “Someday, I’ll make my way back to the West Coast.”

Their journeys are different — medicine and tech, San Francisco and Philadelphia — but both are marked by a shared foundation: a Pacifica education that called them not just to succeed, but to flourish.
