The boys are off to a scorching start to the season with a 14-1 record (best start in school history). This past week our boys won the Venice high school volleyball tournament; 32 teams competed, and we came out on top.
Alex Knight ('19) was named MVP of the tournament, and Benjamin Reasner ('20) was selected to the 1st team all-tournament.
After spring break the boys head to Las Vegas to take on Bishop Gorman and Sunrise Mountain HS.
Beach Volleyball started at the end of February with a Saturday tournament against Notre Dame, Sherman Oaks, and Village Christian (who's indoor team won a state championship this year). Although the competition was tough, our girls worked hard, had fun, and gained greater confidence for the next match. The experience was great and positive for the girls.
We have the opportunity to compete against some very strong volleyball schools due to location. After Spring break, we will continue with our league play against Notre Dame Academy, Archer, and Marymount.
This season has brought out a majority of younger players, so we are looking to strengthen and improve over the next few years. We compete on Tuesdays and Thursdays down at the Annenberg Beach House volleyball courts. Come out and support!
Track & field:
This past weekend (3/9) was their first meet at the Tri-County Small school Invitational. The team is headed to race at the Malibu Invitational this coming weekend.
The team is also off to a sizzling start with a 6-1 record. One of the best starts in school history. With a new and experienced head coach (Chris McCulloch) and many key returners from last year’s team, the boys are poised to make this season quite impressive. They’re ready to battle for a liberty league title this year.
