Distance Learning
In accordance with state and local guidelines, Pacifica will continue to function as a virtual school by following our distance learning plan for the beginning of the fall semester.

Parents and students, please check your emails for the most up-to-date information. You may also contact our Head of School, Jim Knight (jknight@pacificachristian.org), our Associate Head of School for Academics, Wally Hirsch (whirsch@pacificachristian.org), or our Director of Digital Learning, Andrew Soria (asoria@pacificachristian.org).

Where To Go

Each morning, students should login to Canvas by 8am and look through the posted schedule for each of their classes for the day.

When it is time for students to join the teacher's video conference at the beginning of each virtual period, they may click the link available on their Google Calendar (calendar.google.com) or go directly to their Google Meet dashboard (meet.google.com).

Students must attend these video conferences and complete the scheduled work within the time allotted in the virtual period.

Distance Learning Guidelines

  • Students are required to attend all remote classes. Attendance will be taken, including tardies.
  • Students are required to have their cameras on and be fully present for the duration of each class.
  • Students are only allowed to use the chat function on Google Meet to ask questions or as directed by the teacher. Any inappropriate or distracting behavior in the chat area will result in disciplinary action.
  • Students are required to dress professionally. A Pacifica polo is preferred.
  • Students are required to have a distraction-free academic study area. They may not attend class in their beds.
  • No one may attend, watch, or listen to a class other than enrolled students. Students may not invite their friends or other adults to the class. If for some reason a tutor needs access to the class meeting, he/she must receive advance permission from both the academic office and the teacher.
  • At all times, during and outside of class, Pacifica integrity, harassment, and social media policies will be fully enforced. Students must be respectful of their peers, teachers, and the school.
