At Pacifica students are known — not anonymous.
The Academic Department strives to meet each student’s unique academic needs. We support each student where they are, helping each one improve, be that making the jump from a ‘C’ to a ‘B’ or learning what it takes to produce high quality work and change a ‘B’ to an ‘A’.
Every student is assigned an Advisory class in which they have 75 minutes to complete school work, meet with available teachers, or get help from their Academic Advisor. This built-in study time instills effective time management skills, assisting them to learn how to use their time wisely.
Four Year Planning
With the help of our academic advising team, every student creates their own personalized four year plan during their freshmen year. This plan is then revisited on a yearly basis, ensuring that our students are continuing to reach their goals. Students are guided in the selection of their courses, balance with extra-curricular activities, highlighting possible internships, summer programs and volunteer opportunities as well as identifying strengths all in line with personal goals and college interest.
Teacher Office Hours
Pacifica teachers are accessible. Each week, our teachers devote their time to set office hours. Students can take advantage of meeting with any of their teachers one-on-one on a weekly basis.
Office of Academic Counseling
As the Director of Academic Counseling, it is my pleasure to guide each family towards achieving the goals of a Pacifica education-development of the whole person. My mission is to help students meet personal goals, whether they are academic, social, or personal. With the guidance of the Academic Department, students receive the needed support to foster their unique talent, discover true passion, and grow in an array of subjects and activities.
