Philosophy

The Pacifica Christian Athletic Department strives to develop men and women of strong moral character. This department believes in creating an environment in which each student-athlete will be challenged to develop his or her mental and moral faculties, alongside his or her physical skills. Upon graduation from Pacifica, our athletes should have a clear understanding of what it means to be a loving, understanding and humble human being. These values coincide with -- not conflict with -- the self confidence, assertiveness and leadership qualities that are integral to high quality athletic competition.

The goal of the athletic program is to shape our players into people of character. Sports is merely a vehicle through which we strive to teach young men and women important life skills, including leadership, teamwork, responsibility and perseverance. It is our mission to ensure that players leave our program with more than specific athletic skills; Pacifica desires that its athletes walk away with a solid education, a respect for discipline, a deeper self-awareness and the ability to positively impact society.

Pacifica Christian High School is a member in good standing of the California Interscholastic Federation (C.I.F.).

Individual Player Development

At Pacifica, we want each of our athletes to improve and become a more effective team member. At the same time, we want our athletes to improve individually, so they can personally feel the connection of hard work and results.

Whether an athlete wants to be successful at the high school level or wants to compete at the collegiate level, Pacifica is committed to prepare each athlete to achieve that goal. Our coaches have both the experience of preparing athletes for post secondary competition and the determination to see it through. In addition, our practices are designed to prepare each player for success at whatever level that may be.
